Most recently as Executive Vice President and CFO of Alion Science and Technology Corporation, was responsible for the planning, direction, and organization of financial and accounting functions. Was instrumental in the negotiation and closing of the purchase of the IITRI assets to found Alion. Contributed to the strategic vision for the future expansion of the corporation including the acquisition and financing transactions pursued by the company. Over the past 6 years, participated at the senior level in the following: SEC reporting structure, Debt financings over $500MM, Negotiation, due diligence and closing of thirteen acquisitions, Member of the ESOP Committee and Semi-annual outside ESOP stock price valuations. Contributed at the highest levels to the growth of Alion from $200MM in revenue to $750MM in revenue in five years.
Previously as Co-Founder and Principal of PHOENIX Financial & Advisory Services from 1998 to 2002, provided strategic planning, operations, financing, merger/acquisition, business planning, marketing, communications and business development support to small and mid-sized companies in the Technology industry. Assisted numerous start-up/emerging growth companies in the hi-technology industry in obtaining their initial angel/institutional financing. Developed business plans, financial models and " road show" presentations for over three-dozen start-up and early stage companies. Designed strategic plans for hi-tech growth companies in the commercial and government arenas.
Prior to that, was Senior Vice President and CFO of BTG, Inc., a $500MM information technology company, headquartered in Northern Virginia. While at BTG, directed its successful IPO and subsequent Follow-up Offering, raising over $40MM, collectively; developed its senior banking relationship involving the placement of a $110MM revolving line of credit; and managed the successful completion of four acquisition transactions, resulting in growth of the business from $50MM in revenues to over $500MM in five years.
Prior to BTG, was Senior Vice President and Treasurer of ManTech International Corporation, also based in Northern Virginia. While there for 18 years, functioned in senior management positions that led to growth from $4MM in revenues to $200MM, including the successful closure of 13 acquisitions.
Currently Active on the Board of Directors of Leros Technologies Corporation and Netbase Corporation. Previous Chairman of the Board of the Fairfax Division of the American Heart Association. Provided leadership roles for several trade associations including: past Co-Founder of NVTC CFO Programs; past Leader Professional Services Council - Government & Congressional Liaison; and past Board Member of Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce. Previous winner of the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area CFO of the Year Award for Community Service.
Graduated from Frostburg State University with a BS degree in Business/Economics; post-graduate studies in contract law and government procurement.
